Chicago

A few weekends ago we took the fam to Chicago for the weekend! We decided to surprise Dawson and take him to Legoland for his birthday. He knew we were going to Chicago for the weekend but did not know what we were doing there! Dawson is the kind of kid who is happy with the littlest things! It is always hard to know what to buy him for his birthday because he has a very creative mind and is always playing with things that are not toys, or he is trying to create something out the toys he already has. So this year we decided to take him away instead of buying a bunch of toys that would probably not be played with for real long!

So with each kid we tend to get smarter and smarter. So for this trip we put the boys in the way back part of the van. Hmm its brilliant because it is hard to hear them back there if the radio is on. I throw an occasional snack at them and I hardly heard a peep out of them the whole way up :)

Chicago traffic :) Good thing we have patient passengers in the van or maybe it was that we could just simply not hear them! Ha... its wonderful!

So once we made it to the LegoLand area it was time for lunch so we headed to one of our favorite places to eat Chipolte Grill! They have antibiotic free chicken...two thumbs up for that!!

Elliana ate her bib for lunch!

Now onto LegoLand!! Those very small people under the giraffe is my family!

Very cool place!! It was a lot smaller than I expected but the kids had fun and that is all that mattered! And did I mention it is connected to a mall :)

Me and the studly conductor!

The boy's favorite!! Star Wars!!

Just pure cute chubbiness!!! Seriously those cheeks are so fun to kiss....makes me want to have 1 or 2 more of these cuties :) I got to keep up with my friend Sherri !!!!

Yep that right there is one of the many reasons why I married this guy!! You just never know what will come next :) Of course the kids had to try it out as well!

Do you notice Branson shutting his ears?? The Lion makes loud noises when you put your head in there!!

Yep Dawson doesn't like the noise either but they both wanted a picture with the Lion!!

So after LegoLand we checked into our hotel and then headed out for supper at Rainforest Cafe! It was so cool! I have never been to one before so it was lots of fun!

At this point in the day she is so over her brothers kisses :)

So yet another great marketing scheme. They have these "wonderful" volcano deserts at Rainforest Cafe. When they bring it out it has a sparkler stuck in it all lit up and pretty and the waiters and waitresses all sing a song so of course any child would want some of that. And guess who's birthday it was!! Yep we fell for it and I must say it was delicious!!

Well afterwards guess what?!?! Rainforest Cafe is in a mall! How convenient! So we walked around awhile and then headed back to the hotel!

Seriously this is pretty precious to wake up to!!

The boys all worked on setting up their new lego sets they got at legoland!
And guess what time it was???

Yes I did take a picture of the clock. Yep it was 6:00 Chicago time which means it was 5 am our time and all the kiddos were up and at them!!!

After not sleeping in and eating a much bigger breakfast then we are used to we headed to a water park!! It was a WaRm day but we had lots of fun!!

At this age you can still wear stripes no matter how chubby you are :)

She's so wanting a sip of that slushy!

Instead she goes for the cup...and I will try not to think to hard about who all has touched that cup before we ordered it!

Well we marked it in the books as yet another successful family vacation!!

Yes dear, you need to get busy on #4. We've had all our kiddos together up to this point...right? :)

I didn't know you went to Chicago! How fun!
